## Key points

- Omar says her name has always been Ilhan Omar.
- Trump renewed disputed allegations about her former marriage.
- Federal investigators are examining immigration paperwork.

## Summary

Ilhan Omar called Donald Trump a “creep” after he accused her of using a fake name and renewed allegations about her former marriage. The Minnesota congresswoman said her name has always been Ilhan Omar, while her office disputed the claim about her birth name; Omar has not been charged with a crime.

Trump cited a Justice Department filing that names her as “Ilhan Nur Said Elmi, a/k/a Ilhan Abdullahi Omar” and called for her to resign. He also revived an allegation, which Omar has repeatedly denied, that her former husband Ahmed Nur Said Elmi is her brother. Federal investigators are examining whether Omar or her father made false statements on immigration paperwork; agents searched her Washington home and seized her phone and passport.
