Tyson Fury weighed in lighter than his opponent for only the fourth time in his professional career ahead of his heavyweight bout with Mariusz Wach in Pattaya, Thailand, on Friday. The 37-year-old Briton, who joked he was now "Mr Slim", is fighting without a television broadcaster and in front of a much smaller crowd than usual, but a win would keep alive hopes of a long-awaited showdown with Anthony Joshua.

Fury tipped the scales at 18st 13lb (120kg), some 26lb lighter than the 46-year-old Wach's 20st 11lb (132kg), and 3lb down on his previous fight against Arslanbek Makhmudov in April. It is the first time in 15 years he has been lighter than an opponent, having previously done so only against Derek Chisora, John McDermott and Daniil Peretyatko. Wach has lost seven of his last ten fights, including a knockout loss to Moses Itauma, while Joshua faces his own tune-up bout against Kristian Prenga in Saudi Arabia on Saturday. Fury said he wants to stay active, hinting at up to ten fights this year after only one in the past two years.
