- She argues Scott Summers’ early exit weakened Jean’s story.
- She thinks the saga needed three or four films.

## Summary

Iman Vellani has criticised X-Men: The Last Stand for rushing and diminishing the Dark Phoenix Saga, arguing that these choices weakened the film. She said removing Scott Summers early erased emotional weight from Jean Grey’s story and that the saga needed far more room to unfold.

Vellani made the comments on a podcast discussing Fox’s X-Men films. She said Jean’s transformation by the Phoenix Force is a sprawling, cosmic storyline that should have taken three or four films, rather than being compressed into one alongside the Cure plot. On Letterboxd, she has rated The Last Stand 2.5 out of 5.
