## Key points

- Nicks thought the film soundtrack obscured her song.
- She recorded it with Lindsey Buckingham for *Twister* in 1996.
- She later reworked it for a 2014 album.

## Summary

Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham recorded a song for the 1996 film *Twister*, but Nicks later felt it was largely lost amid the film’s action. She believed soundtrack songs often received little attention, despite the film’s wide audience, and wanted to give the track another chance.

The song was reworked for Nicks’s 2014 album *24 Karat Gold: Songs from the Vault*. The article places the recording in a period when Nicks was reconnecting with Fleetwood Mac, including for *The Dance*, after difficulties in her solo career. It also notes her view that songs can remain works in progress long after they are first recorded.
