- Jensen later cast him in his first feature film.
- They have collaborated on six films.

## Summary

Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen says he first met filmmaker Anders Thomas Jensen in 1999, when the two got into a fight on the staircase at a party. Their clash did not prevent Jensen from later casting Mikkelsen, and the pair went on to build a long-running creative partnership.

Mikkelsen said Jensen was provocative when he was younger and joked that the fight may have served as his audition for Jensen’s first feature, *Flickering Lights*. They have since made six films together, including *Adam’s Apples* and *Riders of Justice*, in which Mikkelsen played a priest and an unconventional western-style character.
