## Key points

- Ford said he had never made an action film.
- His filmography includes several action classics.
- *Air Force One* is a clear counterexample.

## Summary

Harrison Ford said in 2006 that he had never made an action film, describing his work as thrillers with action or as adventure and fantasy. The article argues that this distinction overlooks how central action is to many of his best-known films.

It points to five Indiana Jones films, the action thrillers *Patriot Games*, *Clear and Present Danger* and *The Fugitive*, and *Air Force One*, which it describes as a straightforward action film. Ford contrasted his work with *Lethal Weapon*, but the article says his filmography includes plenty of comparable set pieces and action sequences.
