Chad Williams, a 24-year-old man armed with a camouflaged AR-style rifle, has been identified as the gunman who opened fire at an In-N-Out drive-thru in Twin Falls, Idaho, on Saturday afternoon, killing three people and injuring seven others. The attack, which struck one of America's best-known fast food chains, has shocked the local community, with the franchise owner confirming that a beloved employee was among those killed before Williams turned the gun on himself.

Police say Williams acted alone and shot himself following the rampage, which began just after 2pm. Of the seven people injured, two were treated in hospital and later released, three remained stable, and two were left in critical condition. Twin Falls Police Chief Matthew Hicks said an armed citizen and an off-duty state trooper both returned fire at Williams during the incident, actions he suggested helped limit further casualties.
