IndyCar driver Alex Palou has spoken about his visit to the White House and the Oval Office, describing it as an "incredible experience" he hopes one day to tell his grandchildren about. The visit came ahead of an IndyCar event held around Capitol Hill, marking a notable crossover between motorsport and the political world, and highlighting the sport's growing profile in the United States despite Palou not being American himself.

Palou, who was joined by other NTT IndyCar Series figures, recalled meeting the president and being humorously "sprayed with presidential cologne" during the visit. He also looked ahead to the Freedom 250 Grand Prix, a multi-lap race around Capitol Hill that he expects to be highly strategic, alongside fellow drivers such as Graham Rahal and Sting Ray Robb who are also competing in the event.
