A derelict three-bedroom station house in Bleasby, Nottingham, dubbed the “scariest house on Rightmove”, sold at auction for £200,000—nearly three times its £75,000 guide price. Its unsettling online photographs, showing boarded windows, mould, dated interiors, a creepy doll and an abandoned pram, attracted widespread attention, while the sale highlighted the property’s renovation potential.

Dating from the 1840s, the detached house had been empty for some time and was reportedly broken into, prompting the boarding-up of its windows. Auction House Notts & Derby said the property occupies a large plot in a desirable village and could be worth about £600,000 after extensive refurbishment; viewers were divided between finding it frightening and seeing it as a promising project.
