Inspiral Carpets’ tour bus involved in motorway crash that leaves two in hospital
Inspiral Carpets’ tour bus was involved in a collision on the southbound M74 in Scotland during the early hours of Monday 24 August, while the band travelled back towards England after two Scottish shows. No members of the band, crew or the driver were injured, but two occupants of the other vehicle were taken to hospital with minor injuries; police are handling the matter.
The current line-up includes Clint Boon, Stephen Holt, Martyn Walsh and Oscar Boon. The group recently released ‘Drag The Bag’, their first new single in 12 years, and remains on a UK tour scheduled to end on 25 September in Bethesda, Wales; they resumed live performances in 2023 after an earlier hiatus following drummer Craig Gill’s death in 2016.
