A man was arrested after allegedly throwing a bag of glass bottles at a moving police car in Aberdare, South Wales, smashing its windscreen. The incident matters because it put the responding officer at risk and took a police vehicle out of service during an emergency call-out.

Mark Fraser, 40, was detained on suspicion of criminal damage after the officer confronted him and showed him the shattered windscreen. The officer said the attack could have killed him and prevented the car from responding to further emergencies; Fraser apologised and said he did not know why he had done it.
