The International Dance League (IDL) has signed its first-ever media rights agreement, partnering with ESPN to broadcast events on ESPN2, ESPN+ and the ESPN app. It marks a significant step for the fledgling competition as it seeks to establish dance as a mainstream televised sport, giving it exposure to a much wider American sports audience than it has previously reached through social media alone.

Coverage begins with a New York event, followed by broadcasts from Vancouver, Sydney and Seoul over the following weeks, each airing at 7pm ET, usually on Fridays. The IDL, which launched its 2026 season in May and says it has already amassed more than 650 million views and impressions, is structured like a traditional sports league, featuring six teams — including Brotherhood, Quick Style, Jam Republic, GRV, Royal Family and 1MILLION — competing across global cities for a season title. International viewers will be able to follow the league via ESPN and Disney+ in regions such as Australia, New Zealand and Latin America, and exclusively on Disney+ in markets including Brazil, Japan, South Korea and the Philippines.
