## Key points

- iOS 27.2 brings two key changes to CarPlay.
- Podcasts now has New Episodes and Continue Playing sections.
- Siri can recall chats and draw on more personal information.

## Summary

Apple’s iOS 27.2 update adds two main changes to CarPlay: a redesigned Podcasts Home tab and expanded Siri AI features. The changes matter because CarPlay runs through a connected iPhone, bringing some of the phone update’s features into the car.

Podcasts now separates New Episodes from Continue Playing, replacing the previous Up Next section. Siri can recall earlier conversations and use information from sources including voicemails, Safari history and Reading List, Calendar attendees, and photos in Messages. The update also changes the Music app icon; some users report that video playback through APTV no longer works after updating.
