iRobot’s new $1,199 Roomba Max 875 Combo is its most powerful robot yet

Engadget · 3 hours ago

iRobot has unveiled two new robot vacuum-mop combos, the $1,199 Roomba Max 875 Combo and the $899 Roomba Plus 678 Combo, at IFA 2026 in Berlin. The launch introduces iRobot's new SealForce Vacuuming Technology, which the company says makes the Max 875 its most powerful robot to date, as manufacturers continue pushing deeper cleaning performance and smarter carpet handling in premium home robotics.

Both models include an AutoWash Dock, and SealForce works by lowering a hidden skirt to seal against carpet fibres, boosting suction to 35,000 Pascals, iRobot's highest yet. The pricier Max 875 adds ultrasonic ThermaMist heated misting, a PowerSpin Max Roller Mop spinning at 300RPM with 18 Newtons of pressure, and automatic carpet detection that raises the mop and lowers a protective shield; the Plus 678 instead uses SprayForce AI pre-treatment to loosen dirt before mopping. Both are available now via iRobot's website, with shipping due within two weeks and North American retail availability following later this month.
