iRobot launches its first non-robotic Roomba, the manual Electro Plus floor cleaner
iRobot has unveiled the Roomba Electro Plus, its first-ever floor cleaner that is not a robot. Priced at $399, the cordless device is a 5-in-1 hard-floor cleaner that vacuums, mops and disinfects, but must be pushed manually by the user. Alongside it, the company launched five new Roomba robot vacuums that offer higher suction power, smaller footprints and lower prices, largely replacing the range introduced in 2025. The move signals iRobot broadening beyond autonomous machines into the growing market for manual wet-dry cleaners.
The Electro Plus competes with similar products from Dreame and Roborock, but its standout feature is technology from parent company Picea that electrolyses ordinary tap water into a commercial-grade disinfectant said to kill 99.9% of germs while remaining safe for children and pets. Picea, formerly iRobot's manufacturer, acquired the firm this year following its bankruptcy. Among the new robots, the top-tier Roomba Max 775 Combo costs $999.99 (down from the 705's $1,299.99), while the midrange Plus 575 is around 46% more compact than its predecessor thanks to a new dual-lidar sensor, with prices across the range dropping significantly.
