## Key points

- Herzog accepted the certified election results.
- Investigators found no evidence of outcome-changing fraud.
- Netanyahu and Eisenkot must seek coalition partners.

## Summary

President Isaac Herzog accepted Israel’s certified election results and began consultations with parties on forming a new government. The election commission found no evidence of fraud or irregularities that affected the outcome, undermining Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s unsubstantiated claims that Arab-led parties had stolen the vote.

Neither Netanyahu’s religious-nationalist bloc nor opposition leader Gadi Eisenkot’s allies won a parliamentary majority, leaving both sides to seek support from smaller parties. Herzog will meet party representatives over two days before selecting the candidate he believes is best placed to form a coalition; if neither succeeds, Israel could hold another election early next year. A separate Shin Bet inquiry into alleged foreign interference is ongoing, though the election committee said it did not believe any interference affected the results.
