## Key points

- Affleck called *Bounce* his favourite film he had made.
- The 2000 drama paired him with Gwyneth Paltrow.
- Its audience and critical response was modest.

## Summary

Ben Affleck praised the 2000 romantic drama *Bounce* as his favourite film he had made, despite its commercial and critical reception being modest. The film’s premise placed him in an uneasy love story shaped by grief and guilt, and Affleck said making it felt daunting.

Directed and written by Don Roos, *Bounce* stars Affleck as a man who gives his boarding pass to another passenger before their flight crashes. He later seeks out the passenger’s widow, played by Gwyneth Paltrow, and they fall in love while he conceals his role in the events. The film barely broke even and attracted little audience interest, leaving Affleck’s strong assessment at odds with its reception.
