## Key points

- Ian Evatt sympathised with sacked Sheffield Wednesday manager Henrik Pedersen.
- Wednesday are still seeking a successor before Blackpool’s visit.
- Blackpool defender Fraser Horsfall is out with an ankle injury.

## Summary

Blackpool head coach Ian Evatt has expressed sympathy for Henrik Pedersen after Sheffield Wednesday dismissed the Danish manager last weekend. Evatt said football managers are often sacked before clubs give them time to build, as Wednesday search for a successor ahead of Blackpool’s visit to Hillsborough on Sunday.

Wednesday let Pedersen go after a 2-0 defeat by Doncaster, citing a lack of progress, although he had lost only two of his last 11 matches. Interim manager Matt Hamshaw remains in charge after Tuesday’s 1-1 draw with Cambridge United. Evatt expects a difficult match against Wednesday’s squad and a crowd of around 30,000; Blackpool defender Fraser Horsfall is unavailable after his ankle injury flared up again.
