## Key points

- The new MacBook Pro pairs a top-tier screen with a very high price.
- M5 Pro and M5 Max performance is much like the previous model.
- AI-focused buyers may want to wait for Apple’s expected 2027 M7 chips.

## Summary

Apple’s latest MacBook Pro delivers exceptional build quality and what the reviewer describes as the best laptop screen they have used, but its high price and the uncertain pace of computing change make the buying decision difficult. The current M5 Pro and M5 Max models are powerful enough for typical work, yet buyers focused on AI may get more value by waiting for future chips.

The laptop retains up to 24 hours of claimed battery life, three Thunderbolt ports, HDMI, SDXC, MagSafe, and Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6 connectivity. Tests found no meaningful performance difference from its predecessor. Bloomberg reports Apple is preparing an M7 line for 2027 focused on on-device AI, while the A20 Pro in recent iPhones already shows improvements in neural processing and memory bandwidth.
