## Key points

- Marvel has started reversing the effects of *One More Day*.
- Doctor Doom’s takeover of Hell voids Mephisto’s bargains.
- Peter recalls his deal as Aunt May comes under threat.

## Summary

Marvel has begun undoing the consequences of its 2007 Spider-Man storyline *One More Day*, in which Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson gave up their marriage in a bargain with Mephisto to save Aunt May. The change matters because it could reshape Peter and MJ’s relationship and alter a long-running part of Spider-Man’s history.

In *Captain America* #16, Doctor Doom takes control of Hell, voiding deals made with Mephisto, who escapes to Earth. In *The Avengers* #1, angels target people tied to those bargains, including Aunt May; a girl named Paige asks Spider-Man for help, prompting Peter to recall his deal. The comics have not yet established whether Peter and MJ will reunite or what they will remember.
