Stop Killing Games has announced its support for a Dutch consumer lawsuit accusing Sony of abusing its control over digital PlayStation game sales. The campaign argues that Sony’s planned move away from physical discs could further limit consumer choice, resale options and access to purchased games, while giving the PlayStation Store greater influence over prices.

The action is being brought by Dutch consumer group Stichting Massaschade & Consument on behalf of an estimated 1.7 million PlayStation users, seeking around €435 million in damages. It alleges digital PlayStation games cost consumers an average of 47% more than physical editions, despite lower distribution costs; Sony is also expected to stop producing new physical PlayStation games from 2028.
