The sci-fi film The End of Oak Street, produced by J.J. Abrams and directed by David Robert Mitchell, has passed $100 million at the worldwide box office despite a shaky start and difficult pre-release buzz. The film had initially appeared to be underperforming, but strong reviews helped it recover, and it now stands as a healthier prospect than two other recent Warner Bros. underperformers, Mortal Kombat II and Supergirl, even though it has yet to reach break-even.

Starring Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor as a couple whose suburban neighbourhood is flung into prehistoric times, the film has grossed $106 million against a reported $80 million budget, leaving it roughly $55 million short of the break-even point typically required (around double the production budget). It holds an 86% "Certified Fresh" score on Rotten Tomatoes and is expected to soon overtake the worldwide totals of Mortal Kombat II ($126 million) and Supergirl ($129 million). Warner Bros.' upcoming slate includes Practical Magic 2, Dune: Part Three and Digger.
