## Key points

- Jack Black calls The Beatles the best band in the world.
- He says listeners can begin with *Revolver*.
- The article argues their earlier songs are still essential.

## Summary

Jack Black regards The Beatles as “the best band in the world”, even though his favourite band changes over time. He says listeners can start with *Revolver*, arguing there is no real need to hear the group’s earlier records.

The article notes that this advice would mean missing *Rubber Soul* and early hits such as ‘Yesterday’, ‘In My Life’ and ‘I Saw Her Standing There’. It argues that the Beatles’ early songwriting helped build the craft behind their later musical innovations.
