Jack Osbourne has asked fans to mark the first-ever "Ozzy Day" on Wednesday 22 July by sharing personal stories and memories of his late father, Ozzy Osbourne, rather than mourning him with tears. The day falls on the one-year anniversary of Ozzy's death and coincides with tribute events in Birmingham, his hometown, reflecting the continuing public and family efforts to celebrate his legacy a year after his passing.

In an Instagram video, Jack said he wanted people to "fill the entire day" with stories about first hearing Ozzy's music, seeing him live, or personal encounters, urging fans to use the hashtag #OzzyDay. Birmingham's Central BID is running a free city-centre programme of music, memories and tributes, alongside a public art series and live performances, while a "Patient Number 9" Golden Ale has also been launched with Hobsons Brewery to mark the occasion. Ozzy died last summer aged 76 of a heart attack, just 17 days after his final live performance at Villa Park, and was posthumously given the Birmingham Lord Mayor's Award in December.
