Jackbox Games is spinning off Fakin' It, a popular social deduction mini-game from 2016's Jackbox Party Pack 3, into a standalone title called Fakin' It XL, due out on 12 November 2026. The move mirrors the earlier success of Trivia Murder Party as a standalone spin-off, and reflects the enduring popularity of Fakin' It, in which one player must bluff their way through a question without knowing what it actually is. The new version aims to make the game work better for larger groups and remote play, addressing a weakness exposed during the Covid-19 pandemic, when reading facial expressions over a livestream proved difficult.

According to Jackbox's Chief Marketing Officer Brooke Hofer, Fakin' It XL will give each player an avatar that visibly reflects their reactions, making it easier for online viewers to spot the faker. Two new modes, Emojional Damage and Thumb Luck, are designed specifically with remote play in mind, requiring players to respond with emojis or thumbs up/down while the faker tries to convincingly guess along. The game will support up to eight players and launches on Steam, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 on 12 November 2026, with Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 versions to follow later in the year.
