Jacob Elordi has described a gruelling and bizarre shoot for the death of his "Euphoria" character, Nate, revealing on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" that he spent two days locked inside a coffin with a real snake to film the scene. Speaking to guest host and co-star Colman Domingo, Elordi noted the irony that fans who had long wished for Nate's demise were now sad to see him go, joking that after years of hostile tweets about the character, viewers were finally getting what they asked for.

Elordi explained that filming involved being sealed in the coffin for two days wearing prosthetics and a fake tongue, unable to see, while a boa constrictor (digitally altered into a rattlesnake for the show) was placed alongside him; he described the snake as docile and "like a little dog" rather than threatening. He also recalled a punishing six-week stretch being repeatedly beaten by a large stunt performer for earlier scenes in the season, joking that series creator Sam Levinson had brought him back "to torture" him. Elordi reflected on how much "Euphoria" has shaped his career, and mentioned his upcoming film with Ridley Scott, "The Dog Stars," due for release on 28 August.
