James Ellis Ford – Lost In Another World
James Ellis Ford’s second solo album, *Lost In Another World*, was written and recorded largely during more than two weeks of hospital treatment for acute myeloid leukaemia in 2025. Clash Magazine judges the result as a cathartic, inventive record that turns a difficult period into music marked by optimism, intimacy and sci-fi-like electronic textures.
The 12-track album combines synth-pop, electronic experimentation and nostalgic 1980s influences, with Ford acting as vocalist, instrumentalist, composer and producer. Highlights include the lead single ‘Overtones’, the surreal ‘The Ever After’, and the six-minute closing track ‘This Will All Be A Memory Soon’, whose lyrics directly address illness and hair loss; the review awards the album 8/10.

James Ellis Ford is a British musician, songwriter and record producer, best known as one half of electronic duo Simian Mobile Disco. He has also produced records for artists including Arctic Monkeys, Foals and Depeche Mode, while pursuing solo work alongside those collaborations.
