James Gunn Says ‘The Batman: Part II’ Won’t Shoot Back-To-Back With ‘Part III’
DC Studios boss James Gunn has dismissed fan speculation that "The Batman: Part II" and "The Batman: Part III" would be filmed back-to-back, clarifying the timeline as director Matt Reeves continues work on the long-awaited sequel. Gunn addressed the rumour during a Threads Q&A session in which he fielded fan questions about the future of the DC Universe and Reeves's Batman films, simply responding "I can deny" when asked whether the two sequels were shooting simultaneously.
Reeves has been filming at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in the UK since returning to the director's chair in May, recently sharing test shots of Robert Pattinson's Batman, the Batmobile, and a snowy winter setting. Gunn confirmed last July that the "Part II" script was complete after several delays, with filming reported to have begun in spring following a shareholder letter last August. Warner Bros recently pushed the film's release date back to 18 February 2028.
