Jamie Kennedy criticised what he described as political double standards in the United States, arguing that some people who present themselves as tolerant resort to personal abuse against those with different views. Speaking on his podcast, he linked the issue to renewed debate over COVID-19, the pandemic’s effects and hearings involving Dr Anthony Fauci.

Kennedy said some people were “beyond brainwashed” in their response to public debate and criticised what he sees as left-wing hypocrisy. The comments came in a solo episode of his podcast, “Hate to Break It to Ya”, as he discussed the polarised political climate and backlash including “maggot” insults.
