Jamie T and Royal Blood have confirmed surprise performances at Reading Festival, adding to the event’s established secret-set tradition as it begins on 28 August. The appearances matter because they give festival-goers additional high-profile acts beyond the announced line-up, although neither artist is expected to play Leeds Festival.

Jamie T will perform a 33-minute, 10-second Main Stage set at noon, a duration referencing his new single ‘3310’; his sixth album, Ghosts (100 Days of Morning), is due on 9 October. Royal Blood will play The Gallery at 2pm, while Reading’s main headliners include Charli XCX, Dave, Florence and The Machine and Raye; around 100,000 people are expected across the three-day event.
