## Summary

Janelle Monáe appeared at their annual Wondaween celebration in Los Angeles dressed as “Phish Boy”, an original creature with bulging eyes and realistic-looking fins. The elaborate costume, revealed in photos and video, made special-effects makeup and prosthetics its focus.

The event took place on Thursday, 29 October, under the theme “Creature Carnival”; Monáe shared the look the following day and thanked their team for creating it. They had previewed another character, a green ghoul called “Ghostess With the Mostess”, in Instagram videos. Monáe has had three Billboard Hot 100 entries, including the six-week No. 1 hit “We Are Young” with fun.
