Actress Jasmine Jobson has previewed Netflix's upcoming Top Boy spin-off series, working titled "Jaq", which follows her BAFTA-winning character Jaq Lawrence and will shoot next year as a six-part sequel to the original drama, which ended in 2023. The project forms part of a broader expansion of the Top Boy universe, alongside a prequel series called Jonny Boy starring Barry Keoghan, and marks the fulfilment of Jobson's own ambition after she said she was reluctant to let the character go following her BAFTA TV Award win two years ago.

The series picks up five years after Top Boy's finale, with Jaq now living in a seaside town before someone close to her goes missing, drawing her back into the criminal world she had tried to leave behind. Jobson co-created the show with writer Ryan Calais Cameron and will serve as executive producer, alongside figures including series creator Ronan Bennett, Drake and Adel "Future" Nur of DreamCrew Entertainment, and producers from SpringHill Studios. Jobson also has other projects in the pipeline, including boxing biopic "In The Shadows" at the London Film Festival and a returning role in Paramount+'s "MobLand".
