A Hulu pilot about two sisters navigating crime and family has expanded its ensemble cast. Jason Schmidt, Julia Lester, and Piper Runge join established leads Ellen Pompeo and Jodie Whittaker for the dramedy 'Chicks', with veteran television director Max Winkler helming the episode. The project comes from writer Katie Robbins, developed in collaboration with Pompeo.

The series, set in gentrifying Boston neighbourhoods, centres on estranged half-sisters Chickie and Doreen, who inherit their deceased father's criminal enterprises and escalate into increasingly elaborate fraud schemes. Schmidt plays Sally Jr., a finance professional seeking family validation; Lester portrays Sinead, recently released from prison; and Runge takes on Lori, an ambitious nursing student. As the sisters execute their schemes, they forge an unexpected connection whilst processing shared loss.
