Jay-Z Brings Out Lauryn Hill and Wyclef at ‘Jay-Z30’ London Concert
Jay-Z kicked off the London leg of his "Jay-Z30" tour at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with a string of surprise guest appearances, including Lauryn Hill and Wyclef Jean for a mini-Fugees reunion performance of "Ready or Not" and South London rapper Giggs. The concert also marked Beyoncé's birthday, with Jay-Z paying tribute to his wife from the stage, though she watched from a box rather than performing herself. The show underscores the guest-heavy format that has defined this tour and Jay-Z's broader return to touring this year.
The London stop follows a run of three Yankee Stadium shows in July that featured 19 guests, among them Beyoncé, Rihanna, Eminem, Nas and Alicia Keys, and a headlining Roots Picnic set in Philadelphia earlier this year. Jay-Z performs in London again on Saturday before shows in Paris on 10 September and Los Angeles on 23 and 24 October. He is also set to feature in an eight-part HBO documentary series, "Jay-Z in 8", directed by Rick Rubin, exploring his music and career.
