Jaye P. Morgan, the American singer whose hit records in the 1950s were followed decades later by notoriety as a mischievous panellist on the game show The Gong Show, has died aged 94. She passed away on Monday at her home in Castle Rock, Washington, her family confirmed, closing out a career that spanned early rock-and-roll radio hits, television variety shows and a memorable, scandal-tinged run as a celebrity judge.

Morgan first found fame in 1955 with songs including "That's All I Want From You", which reached number three on the Billboard Hot 100, and went on to front her own NBC variety programme and appear regularly on The Tonight Show, where she cultivated a risqué reputation with host Johnny Carson. She became a fan favourite on The Gong Show in the late 1970s for her outrageous scoring of amateur acts, but was eventually fired after baring her breasts during a routine on the show. Born Mary Margaret Morgan in 1931 in Mancos, Colorado, she later returned to acting and music, appearing in films such as Home Alone 2 and the Chuck Barris biopic Confessions of a Dangerous Mind.
