Rapper Yelawolf has revealed that he once gave country star Jelly Roll a brand-new pickup truck during a difficult period in the singer's life. Speaking on Taste of Country Nights, Yelawolf described how the pair's long friendship included taking Jelly Roll on tour as an opening act and stepping in with practical help when he was struggling. The story highlights the personal support behind Jelly Roll's rise, at a time when the artist is enjoying considerable mainstream success.

Yelawolf recalled that Jelly Roll would turn up to shows in an old police-style Crown Victoria without a licence plate, and that he gifted him a Chevrolet Silverado so he could drive his family around at Christmas. The two men grew up near each other in Tennessee but only met after being introduced by Shooter Jennings at an Atlanta studio, quickly becoming close friends and collaborators; Yelawolf says he recorded Jelly Roll's first singer/songwriter track, which may have sparked his genre shift. Jelly Roll is currently touring, with his Little Ass Shed Tour running until 22 July in Walla Walla, Washington, while also supporting Post Malone on the Big Ass Stadium Tour through 28 July, followed by a final 2026 show in Colorado Springs.
