Da Capo, an imprint of Grand Central Publishing/Hachette, will publish "Shooting Up And Making Out: A Memoir Of My Life In LA And L7" by former L7 bassist Jennifer Finch, co-written with Jeff Alulis, on 19 January 2027. Finch, a punk rock icon and pro-choice advocacy co-founder, completed the memoir shortly before her death from cancer on 18 July 2026, making it her final major project.

The book recounts Finch's extraordinary life, from entering LA's hardcore punk scene aged twelve and first using heroin at fourteen, to joining an early band with Courtney Love and Kat Bjelland at nineteen, and later touring with L7 during the grunge era alongside acts such as Pearl Jam and Red Hot Chili Peppers. Finch had withdrawn from L7's final tour on 13 July 2026 after revealing her diagnosis, prompting a GoFundMe campaign that raised over $375,000 for her care and to help complete the memoir, with donations from peers including Bad Religion's Brett Gurewitz.
