Jeremy Corbyn, the former Labour leader and Islington North MP, has agreed a sale on his North London home, reportedly set to nearly double the amount he paid for it. The three-bedroom terraced house had most recently been listed at £700,000 and is now sold subject to contract, though the exact agreed price remains undisclosed. This marks a notable financial outcome for the veteran socialist politician, who has lived at the property for nearly two decades and was frequently pictured there during his time as Labour leader.

Corbyn bought the house for £363,000 in 2007 and had previously attempted to sell it for £1 million three years ago before withdrawing it. It was relisted in March at £800,000 and progressively reduced to £780,000, then £750,000, before settling at £700,000, a figure well above the average house prices for England (£291,000) and London (£663,000). The property, home to Corbyn and his wife Laura Alvarez, features three double bedrooms, two reception rooms and a 26ft garden, and has previously been the site of a 2019 climate protest and a 2018 planning dispute with Islington Council.
