## Key points

- Harbaugh rejected Lake’s criticism of Herbert’s throws.
- Herbert has been intercepted in all seven games.
- The Chargers have gone two weeks without a touchdown.

## Summary

Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh defended Justin Herbert after Rams safety Quentin Lake mocked the quarterback’s two interceptions as “deli meat” throws. Harbaugh said he did not see it that way, while acknowledging Herbert had two passes he would want back in the Chargers’ 24-9 defeat.

The loss left the Chargers without a touchdown for a second consecutive week. Herbert has thrown at least one interception in each of the team’s seven games and has been intercepted 10 times this season; Lake and Trent McDuffie each picked him off against the Rams. Harbaugh said the team was focused on preparing to win its next game.
