Jimmy Kimmel has won the Emmy for Outstanding Host for a Game Show for the second year running, for his work on ABC's Who Wants To Be A Millionaire. The win comes days before Kimmel is tipped as a favourite for Outstanding Variety Series at the main Primetime Emmys ceremony on 14 September, though his game-show success did not extend to the top prize, as Millionaire again lost out to Jeopardy! in the Outstanding Game Show category.

Kimmel beat rivals including Steve Harvey (Celebrity Family Feud), Ken Jennings (Jeopardy!), Colin Jost (Pop Culture Jeopardy!) and Martin Short (Match Game), with ABC shows dominating the category. Jeopardy!, meanwhile, claimed the Outstanding Game Show award for the fourth consecutive year since moving out of the daytime Emmys in 2023, beating Celebrity Family Feud, The Price Is Right and Wheel of Fortune; the show is executive produced by Michael Davies alongside Sarah Whitcomb Foss and Bari Jean Dorman.
