Jo Wood has stated that The Rolling Stones are unlikely to tour again, attributing this to Keith Richards' reluctance to hit the road. The band scrapped plans for a 2026 tour to promote their album Foreign Tongues, and Wood suggests Richards would need considerable persuasion to agree to touring, making the prospect seem improbable.

Wood emphasised that The Rolling Stones cannot function without both members of the songwriting duo known as the Glimmer Twins. Originally, the band was scheduled to tour in 2025 with European dates including Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, before cancelling those plans. Whilst Mick Jagger has expressed enthusiasm for touring in the near future, Richards has remained non-committal, and residencies have been suggested as a potential compromise, though Jagger is hesitant about their cost to fans.
