## Summary

Joe Rogan argued on his podcast that progressive politics has become a substitute for religion for some people on the left, and that some Christians are reshaping traditional doctrine around contemporary political beliefs. He said religion can provide a shared moral framework, while questioning whether changes to Christian teaching preserve its original foundations.

Rogan cited LGBT pastors and debates over abortion and God’s gender as examples, while saying biblical passages on slavery and warfare would be more deserving of modern scrutiny. Guest Francis Foster spoke in favour of a faith that takes its doctrines and moral consequences seriously. Bishop Robert Barron broadly agreed, saying some liberal forms of Christianity had replaced core beliefs with a progressive political agenda.
