John C. Dvorak, a veteran technology journalist and long-time co-host of the No Agenda podcast, has died unexpectedly at the age of 80. He passed away on 20 July 2026 in Albany, California, according to a family spokesperson who spoke to The Hollywood Reporter. Over a career spanning decades, Dvorak became a well-known voice in tech media, shaping how personal computing was covered for a mainstream audience.

Dvorak wrote the influential "Inside Track" column for PC Magazine after moving there from InfoWorld in August 1986, contributed to CNET Central between 1995 and 1999, hosted NPR's Technically Speaking, and authored more than a dozen books. He co-hosted No Agenda with Adam Curry since its launch in October 2007, with the show's most recent episode having paid tribute to his legacy shortly before his death. Born in Fresno, California, on 5 April 1946, he studied History and computer science at UC Berkeley. He is survived by his wife, Mimi, his children, stepson and four grandsons, with a granddaughter due in October.
