## Key points

- The John Cena Classic is set for 14 December at Disney World.
- Cody Rhodes is the first confirmed invitee.
- Fans are expected to influence the new championship event.

## Summary

John Cena has set a date and venue for the John Cena Classic, a new WWE event that will form part of a two-part episode of Monday Night Raw on 14 December. Wrestlers will compete for a new championship at Disney World, with fans expected to have a say in the event.

Cody Rhodes is the first confirmed invitee, following his rivalry with Cena in 2025: Cena beat him at WrestleMania 41 to win a record 17th world title, before Rhodes regained it at SummerSlam. Cena said more invitees would be announced over the coming weeks, but WWE has yet to explain the format; earlier plans said competitors who lose individual matches could still win the overall event.
