John Cena said he had accepted the possibility that Coyote vs. Acme might never have been released, stressing that performers do not control the business decisions made by a film’s owners. The film will now reach cinemas on 28 August after Ketchup Entertainment acquired it, ending a high-profile period in which Warner Bros. Discovery had shelved it despite completed production.

Warner Bros. Discovery cancelled the planned release in 2023 and received a $30 million tax write-off, amid similar decisions involving Batgirl and Scoob! Holiday Haunt. Ketchup Entertainment reportedly bought Coyote vs. Acme for about $50 million; the live-action/animation film stars Cena and Will Forte, and follows Wile E. Coyote joining legal action against Acme over its faulty products.
