John Corabi has denied that his recent exit from The Dead Daisies was linked to former singer Glenn Hughes rejoining the band for a one-off show, offering his own account of the split in a new interview. Corabi, best known as a former Mötley Crüe frontman, said the departure instead stemmed from a breakdown of trust with management after being told the band was taking a year off, only to see plans quietly change around the release of his solo material.

Corabi explained that he and then-bassist Michael Devin were informed The Dead Daisies would pause for a year, with only a free live recording planned for fans, but he later discovered the band was preparing a new album and vinyl release without his knowledge. He noted that record came out on 1 May, just a week after his own solo album "New Day" was released on 24 April, prompting him to write to founder David Lowy and quit. The Dead Daisies confirmed his exit on 14 July, thanking him for his contribution, roughly six weeks after the band had reunited with Hughes for a rare show billed as The Purple Daisies on 30 May in St Charles, Illinois.
