- Skattebo ran for over 120 yards and scored a touchdown.

## Summary

New York Giants coach John Harbaugh defended running back Cam Skattebo after officials penalised him for unnecessary roughness in Sunday’s win over the Houston Texans. Harbaugh said Skattebo’s low, forceful running style is a normal way to protect himself and the ball, and disputed that he had deliberately used his helmet as a weapon.

The 15-yard flag followed a collision in which Skattebo lowered his shoulder into Texans safety M.J. Stewart, who fell to the ground. Officials appeared to judge that Skattebo had led with the crown of his helmet, amid the NFL’s efforts to curb helmet-to-helmet contact. Skattebo had run for more than 120 yards and scored a touchdown, and said he would keep running as he chose despite the possibility of further flags or fines.
