John Lydon, the former Sex Pistols and current Public Image Ltd (PiL) frontman, has said the chances of him rejoining the Sex Pistols are "minus infinities," ruling out any reunion. Now 70, Lydon spoke about the ongoing feud in an interview timed to PiL's busiest touring period in decades, as the band prepares for an extensive run of North American dates as part of what they call "This Is Not the Last Tour."

PiL have already played around three dozen shows across Europe and South America and have another two dozen North American dates lined up for this summer, with further tours planned into next year. The band are also releasing a live album, Alive, and have begun recording a new studio LP, provisionally titled AI: Actual Intelligence, having written roughly 20 songs during sessions in Portugal. Around ten of the new tracks are being finished in London with the help of Oasis's Noel Gallagher, who lent PiL his studio. It will be the band's first new record since 2023's End of World, and since the deaths that year of Lydon's wife, Nora Forster, and his best friend and PiL manager, John "Rambo" Stevens.
