## Summary

John Mayer has launched Sob Rock Records in partnership with Mercury Records and released “Tom and Jerry”, his first new solo track since 2021’s *Sob Rock*. The move marks a new label venture for the singer-songwriter, whose single has an ’80s-inspired sound and retains his characteristic soft, dreamy ballad style.

Mayer produced the track with Blake Slatkin; Serban Ghenea mixed it, and it was recorded at Chaplin Studios. It debuted on Mayer’s SiriusXM channel before reaching streaming platforms. He is also preparing for a Sphere residency in Las Vegas in 2027, expanded from six shows to 21 dates between April and June, with solo, full-band and John Mayer Trio sets.
