- He cited Republican candidates’ distance from Trump in campaign adverts.
- “You Can See Everything” has become a staff obsession, he said.

## Summary

On “Last Week Tonight”, John Oliver mocked Donald Trump’s midterm campaign rhetoric and Republican candidates’ efforts to distance themselves from him. He also turned a joke about a candidate dodging a question into a dig at Elizabeth Holmes and Billy Evans, whose appearance in the documentary “You Can See Everything” has reportedly captivated the show’s staff.

Trump led rally attendees in a pledge that included saying he loved them “so much he can’t even breathe” and warned that people who did not vote would go to hell. Oliver cited a report that more than 99% of Republican ad spending was on adverts that did not mention Trump, and ridiculed Michigan Senate candidate Mike Rogers for claiming he had trouble with his earpiece when asked whether voting for him meant backing Trump’s agenda. Oliver said discussion of the documentary had disrupted the programme’s workflow.
